🌀 Cycles Overview

Cycles in Strategy Focus are structured time periods that help you plan, track, and reflect on progress in a repeatable and consistent way. They’re designed to support cadence-based planning—ideal for OKR (Objectives and Key Results) frameworks used by modern teams.

🔍 What are Cycles?

A Cycle is a fixed time window—typically quarterly or monthly—during which OKRs and Tasks are actively worked on and monitored. It provides a clear timeframe for setting objectives, aligning team efforts, and measuring outcomes.

✅ Why Use Cycles?
  • Establishes a planning rhythm: Encourages regular check-ins, updates, and goal-setting.

  • Improves focus and clarity: Teams know what to prioritize during each cycle.

  • Supports accountability: Progress is tracked against specific time-bound goals.

  • Enables reflection and learning: Each cycle can conclude with a review of what was achieved and what can be improved next time.

📅 Common Use Cases
  • Quarterly Planning: Set OKRs and track team progress every 3 months.

  • Monthly Sprints: For teams using agile workflows who want monthly focus areas.

  • Annual Themes: High-level goals that break down into smaller cycle-based milestones.

🔒 Admin-Controlled

Only admins can create, edit, or archive Cycles. Once created, team members can align their OKRs and Tasks to the active Cycle for the organization.

👀 Optional but Powerful

Cycles are optional and can be enabled or disabled in your organization’s settings. When enabled, Tasks and OKRs can be associated with a Cycle to enforce start/end dates and improve planning discipline.
